What Is a Force Plate Test?
We perform a series of tests on a medical-grade device that captures hundreds of metrics, giving us the objective data needed to make better, safer programming decisions. While force plates are a staple in every elite sports facility, these same tests are just as valuable for the general population and everyday athletes, offering a rare, direct window into how their muscles produce force. What We Test
The countermovement jump is the most widely used measure of lower-body explosive power. Because the plate records the whole force-time curve rather than only how high you jumped, repeat tests show whether power is being produced the same way over time, which is why it is used to track neuromuscular fatigue and readiness. Lower-limb power also tracks with survival: in middle-aged and older adults, those in the lowest band of relative muscle power had a markedly higher risk of death than those in the highest.
